Overview

The chemical dunk tank is specifically designed for use in BSL3 and BSL4 biosafety laboratories.

The dunk tank serves as a specialized pass-through system for transferring goods between sections of a cleanroom or biology laboratory, using liquid disinfection to ensure effective sterilization.

Based on a classic design, the PBSC dunk tank—also referred to as a High Containment Tank, Decontamination Tank, Hydrogen Peroxide Chamber, or Containment Barrier—features stainless steel lids mounted on durable cast stainless steel hinges. Inside the tank, a hinge-down submersion plate ensures items are fully immersed in the neutralizing chemical solution for effective decontamination.

The dunk tank features a manual locking mechanism, allowing the doors to provide a secure barrier seal even without the fluid in the tank.

It achieves a typical pressure loss of 80Pa at SAT over 30 minutes, starting from a pressure of 500Pa.

The chemical dunk tank can be equipped with a control panel offering PLC-controlled immersion times and integration with card swipe systems for enhanced access control.

For the safe transfer of items from hazardous environments, a recovery claw is included.

Custom designs are available—contact our technical department for more information and tailored solutions.

Effective Decontamination:

  • Ensures thorough immersion for comprehensive coverage.
  • Utilises chemical solutions to sterilize or neutralize contaminants on items.
