The hospital is located in Chelmsford and boasts the internationally acclaimed St. Andrew’s Burns and Plastics Centre. This center provides a supra-regional burns service to a population of 9.8 million people.
PBSC provided cleanroom pass through hatches to Southend University Hospital, which is part of Broomfield Hospital.
The hospital functions as a teaching hospital for medical students from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. In recent times, Broomfield has been associated with Anglia Ruskin School of Medicine.
The Trust takes pride in being a center of research excellence and supports innovation through its MSE Innovation Programme. Providing accessible and high-quality research opportunities for patients and the public.
Solutions/Results
Southend University Hospital’s mission is to provide advanced research that contributes to the development of innovative healthcare models aimed at enhancing patient safety and care. Conducting research on a wide range of health conditions, from asthma to renal problems, by exploring the latest medications and medical devices and collecting data through questionnaires and blood samples to prevent health problems.
PBSC supplied cleanroom products for several years at this research facility. However, we were recently asked to update and replace the existing underperforming transfer hatches provided by another company.
The results not only ensured uniformity but also gave the facility an unrivaled cleanroom hatch.
Products supplied:
PBSC’s hatch, also referred to as a cleanroom pass through and a pass box, is a durable and sturdy solution for transferring materials in and out of a cleanroom or a containment conrolled workspace, eliminating the need for personnel to enter or exit the laboratory or hospital environment.
The result for Southend University Hospital is one of being able to reduce the risk of contamination and increase efficiency while providing a barrier between adjacent cleanrooms.
Enhancing the look of the facility while giving maximum visibility and natural light.
