The decontamination showers from PBSC are used to remove any possible contamination from personnel entering or exiting high containment and cleanroom areas and have undergone extensive independent third-party testing for specialist API facilities to minimize the risks.
PBSC offers a diverse selection of customized designs to meet customers' unique needs.
The offering from PBSC consists of a fogging shower which is assessed by SafeBridge Consultants Inc. and is also known as a chemical shower, ultrasonic fogging shower, or a mist shower, and is used for the removal or encapsulation of powder from protective garments.
The fogging shower/chemical shower from PBSC has a cycle using 5-10 micron water droplets to encapsulate API particles while minimizing wetting of the operator's PPE suit. Surface contamination levels can decrease by up to 800 times, and there is also a significant reduction in airborne particles during de-gowning.
Equipped with a factory-tested PLC, controls, and a utility control panel. The control cabinets can be located either above the shower or next to it. They come with prewired cables to make site electrical installation easy.
The chemical shower has all its parts supplied on plugs, making it easy and quick to replace any spare parts. This ensures that downtime is minimized in the unlikely event of component failure. PBSC standard components are used according to your specific requirements and specifications.
The available system comes with a variety of PLC options. You can choose a Siemens LOGO PLC with the option of a remote 'TDE' PLC screen if needed. Alternatively, a Rockwell (Allen-Bradley) MLX1100 PLC with a PanelView 800 HMI 4" color touchscreen is also available as a standard choice.
Also available within the PBSC decontamination shower range is the air shower, also known as a cleanroom shower, a decontamination shower, and an air shower chamber, used for removing particles with high-velocity jets of air.
PBSC offers two personnel air shower designs: one with an integrated Air Handling Unit (AHU) on top of the shower, and another with a separate AHU featuring "Safe Change" filters. Both options use high-velocity air jets to remove non-hazardous particles from the operative upon entry into a controlled area.
The air shower is PBSC's latest design, which has undergone continuous improvements over the years. It features either stainless-steel or powder-coated steel construction, with interlocked float and toughened glass personnel doors. The shower requires no cranes or special access on-site for final assembly, as the largest component can fit through a single doorway.
The door design provides a maximum clear entry width with the frame finishing flush with the internal panels for straight-through design only. Consisting of 9 x adjustable stainless-steel nozzles on both side walls, 18 nozzles in total.
All PBSC decontamination showers are packed with features and options, making them ideal for medical facilities, pharmaceutical research, and containment-controlled facilities. Please contact PBSC for more details.
