Overview

PBSC’s fire rated pass through hatch, also known as a fire rated chamber, fire rated box, fire rated pass through window, or fire rated cleanroom hatch, is a specialized hatch used to transfer materials between different areas in a facility while maintaining fire resistance and contamination control. It is crucial in environments where fire safety is a priority, such as laboratories, cleanrooms, and industrial facilities.

Their robust design, fire resistant materials, and advanced safety features make PBSC’s Fire Rated hatch indispensable in environments where fire safety is a priority, ensuring both protection and efficiency in material transfer processes.

If you need a pass through hatch placed within a firewall, PBSC provides a tested and certified fire rated option in either a wall or floor mounted hatch configuration. Depending on size, the unit comes with fire rated vision panels in the stainless steel door leaves, prioritizing operator and facility safety.

Innovation. Design. Quality

PBSC’s reliable interlock system aids in the reduction of cross-contamination and pressure loss by ensuring that both doors cannot be opened simultaneously. This system allows time for the hatch “air” to recover before the next door can be opened, ensuring maximum safety. The interlock feature is securely mounted between the two skins of the hatch body to prevent tampering. It is also available as an electro mechanical option with timed interlocks for air purge and UV light cycles.

PBSC’s fire rated hatch comes in either a wall mounted or floor mounted construction, both have the following:

  • The hatch shell is manufactured from polished stainless steel with a double skin
    construction.
  • The door panels comprise of one Pyran glass pane located within each door panel to
    maintain visibility without compromising safety.
  • Powder coated option available with a powder coated Zintec material.
  • 304 or 316 stainless steel material options.

Every hatch is available in a range of sizes and configurations to meet the specific requirements of the end user and application.

  • Single or double doors per side.
  • Mid Mount – The hatch will be mounted centrally into the existing wall space.
  • End Mount – The hatch will be mounted via one side into the existing wall space.
  • Build In – The hatch will be mounted between the existing wall space.
  • Orientation – Straight through, right angle, or 3 door (T section) orientation.
  • Smooth and easy to clean surfaces to prevent contamination build up.
  • The flush surfaces and high quality seals ensure a clean and controlled environment.
  • Enhances workflow by providing a dedicated and safe transfer point.

Following on-site installation, PBSC offers a Planned Preventative Maintenance and Servicing Plan with an extensive after sales support service, including planned preventative maintenance programs, servicing, and spare parts.
Regular Maintenance, inspection, and testing of seals, interlocks, and fire rated components is crucial to ensure ongoing compliance and performance.
